在这部悲喜交加的喜剧中，四个兄弟来到北卡罗来纳州，他们的母亲家中，对临终的母亲做最后的告别，却被被困在了一起整整两个星期……。一名成功的画家，婚姻濒临破碎，自己也对久居巴黎的城市生活深感厌倦。心力交瘁之际他回到了远离巴黎的农村——那里是他度过童年的地方。母亲遗留下来的老房子已经被野生林木包围，于是画家登出启事寻找一位园丁为自己打理花园，顺便种植一些“真正”的蔬菜。巧合的是招聘来的老园丁竟是自己幼时的同学，两位年过半百的老人之间，由此开始了一场温暖而充实的对话……。The film follows the title character (Jonigkeit) as he navigates his search for a moral center, after an act of compassion upends his life. Looking to authority figures he encounters along the way — including his eventual cellmate, Gene (LaBeouf) — Henry’s journey leads him down a road of manipulation and ethical uncertainty.。
