这部彩色纪录片中，介绍了我国传统木偶艺术的基本情况，同时展现了由中国木偶艺术剧团演出的四个节目：1.秧歌舞、2.猪八戒背媳妇、3.蒋干盗书、4.路打不平（雷万春打虎）前两部为李干元、阎凤舞、冷福记、李云鉴等表演的杖头木偶；后两部为杨胜、陈南田表演的闽南布袋木偶……。叶青是华国农学专家，她的丈夫江硕家突发蝗灾，庄稼受灾严重，江硕和村里的乡亲们请叶青回去救灾。叶青救治过程中药方屡屡出现问题，使得庄稼被铺天盖地的蝗虫啃食。暴怒的村民将叶青囚禁起来虐杀而死。。Boarders is a high energy, coming of age comedy drama.
