故事发生在当代的香港长洲。而立之年的张保生（黄浩然 饰）有两个志趣相投的、情同手足的朋友，他们是当医生的程礼荣（陈展鹏 饰）和当邮差的陈满基（扬明 饰）。街坊会主席胜妹委派保生协助美国回港的电视制作人郑抱抱（陈茵微 饰）拍片，无奈保生才疏学浅，笑话百出。礼荣在一次医疗事故中遭人陷害，后在老医生关心仁（周聪 饰）开导下终成长洲仁医。此时，当年绝他而去的恋人希雯（李诗韵 饰）重返长洲，重新相见，两人百感交集。希雯决定洗尽铅华重新创业，礼荣母亲刘妙莲（卢宛茵 饰）怕儿子旧情复燃，极力阻止其接近希雯。保生为阻止他所认为的抱抱与胜妹的“奸情”，结果弄巧成拙。保生的妹妹文凤（乐瞳 饰）一心要踏入演艺圈，不料，唱片公司总监早已对她起了色心......。Carl Theodor Dreyer's classic silent film tells the tale of Satan's (Helge Nissen) banishment from heaven.
