影片以民国时期声色犬马的大上海为背景，讲述了上海滩大佬金广荣（吕良伟饰），为争夺“七大码头”的控制权，与以内山正彦（任思齐饰）为首的日本商会、码头工人等多种势力之间，纷争不断的“赛马”故事。。法伦（亚历克斯·帕蒂弗饰）作为一个夜晚的生物在这片土地上游荡，他开始接受自己的家人在残酷的煽动家雷诺兹（盖伊·皮尔斯饰）手中的悲惨损失。After amusements working in a restaurant, Charlie uses his lunch break to go roller skating. Mr. Stout makes advances toward the unwilling Edna (whose father and Mrs. Stout had earlier carried on in the restaurant). After a roller skate ballet, Charlie (now as Sir Cecil Seltzer) is invited to a party at Edna's. All the "couples", including a new partner for Mr. Stout. show up.。
