故事发生在明朝年间。朝廷为充实瘳落的后宫，在全国展开宫女海选，孤女紫云为报富商邵仲（杨哲 饰）收留之恩，代替其女春华（安以轩 饰）入宫做了宫女，她与柏含香（刘庭羽 饰）同在浣衣局洗衣，俩人成了无话不谈的朋友。不久发生宫变，太子朱见深（蒋毅 饰）遭发配，宫女万贞儿（杨怡 饰）不离不弃，待日后朱见深继位后，封万贞儿为贵妃，凌七巧（刘娜萍 饰）也仗势成了贵妃身边的红人。此时，己是宫廷乐师的含香与春华同时爱上为复仇混进宫廷的杨永（冯绍峰 饰）。妃嫔含香、清姿因怀上龙子遭万贵妃妒恨，春华决心施计相助，不料惹出新一番后宫内斗......。Closed Circuit is structured, in one sense, as a straightforward commercial thriller, with a series of mysterious and bloody murders and a wide variety of potential suspect, each with a secret to hide.
