When a casino owning dog named Charlie is murdered by his rival Carface, he finds himself in Heaven basically by default since all dogs go to heaven. However, since he wants to get back at his killer, he cons his way back to the living with the warning that doing that damns him to Hell. Once back, he teams with his old partner, Itchy to prep his retaliation. He also stumbles on to an orphan girl who can talk to the animals, thus allowing him to get the inside info on the races to ensure his wins。狄龙移居加拿大后，落地生根。育有一子一女，但因与妻婚姻破裂，狄龙父兼母职，照顾一对年幼子女。邻居住有一对父女，父亲谷峰脾气暴躁古怪，养女梁婉静，侍父至孝。狄龙对梁婉静颇有印象，暗恋多时，惜梁婉静始终未觉。狄龙为了与老父张瑛团聚，因此安排张瑛到加拿大安享晚年。不料，在谷峰父女设宴为张瑛洗尘时，发觉张瑛 乃当年之情敌。自此之后，两人终日斗气，势成水火。狄龙、梁婉静二人虽无法平息两老之争斗，但却造就两人更多接触及互相了解之机会。不久梁婉静接受了狄龙之示爱，两老极力反对，谷峰父女更大吵一场，最后谷峰竟趁风雪之夜失踪，一场雪地寻人的风波因而展开……。
