類いまれな語学センスと好奇心を持つ青年・伊嶋壮多が、通詞だった父の失踪の謎を追って、江戸から国際都市の長崎へやって来たことで展開する本作。長崎ならではの密輸事件が発生し、謎の男・神頭有右生（こうずゆうせい）の登場によって壮多が思いがけないたくらみに巻き込まれていくさまが描かれる。。A group of rogues steal a scroll granting its bearer the property of the land of Aurocastro in Apulia (south of Italy). They elect a shaggy knight, Brancaleone from Norcia, as their leader, and decide to get possession of this supposedly wealthy land. Many adventures will occurr during the journey.。
