节目通过简单直接的问答形式，还原离奇故事的真相。每期一共五位嘉宾，分为四名侦探和一名当事人。由当事人简要演绎该期故事，四名侦探通过对当事人进行提问寻求真相。节目把焦点放在逻辑推理环节，让嘉宾在简单的一问一答中无限接近真相。。“Praise be to the cinema: the law is not said, it is seen and heard. A story is born and given to us. This is how, through an image, life is resuscitated”. (Jean-Luc Godard, 1985)。
