水产店打工人贾凡（唐晓天饰），与时尚二字毫无关系，却因一次阴差阳错的机会，误打误撞闯入时尚修罗场，走上T台，还对新晋超模韩以京（王紫璇饰）进行了“死亡发言”。韩以京本以为两人不会再见，没想到冤家路窄，贾凡竟被模特公司的创始人看中，成为自己的“同事”！两人带着各自的傲慢与偏见，却又命定般地慢慢靠近，甚至牵扯出奇妙的前缘。两人互为师生，更为战友。她教他专业技能，他带她感受人间烟火……韩以京内心的铜墙铁壁渐渐被贾凡撬动，只有在他面前，她不用再做完美的模特。而小人物贾凡，也在以京的帮助下，逆袭成为配得上荣耀与欢呼的模特新星。命运之手再次翻覆，贾凡被查出患有遗传性眼疾，即将失明；以京的车祸后遗症也被有心之人察觉，令她人气滑坡，面对职场与爱情的双重危机，两人陷入了艰难的抉择……。In this bitingly satirical film Peter Slovan, a continuous source of trouble for the film functionaries of the socialist Slovakia, tackles an evergreen topic – the corruptive effects of power. Barnabáš Kos, a triangle player at a symphonic orchestra, is suddenly promoted to serve as the head of the said institution, even though both he and his superiors deem him completely unfit for the task. Encouraged in equal parts by this unexpected recognition and the servile praise of his colleagues, Kos’s modesty starts to gradually vanish. The erstwhile bashful and aloof percussionist quickly becomes aware of the advantages of his new office, and begins to realise his increasingly ludicrous artistic ambitions. Ultimately, the submissive marionette turns into a source of public humiliation, and his astonishing career finds an abrupt end. Orchestra serves here as a microcosm that grotesquely reflects the absurd and tragicomic mechanisms of the paranoid apparatus of power.
